Dr. Mareika Ydens was born in Colorado and grew up around New Mexico. She started working as a veterinary assistant at various equine and small animal veterinary clinics in high school, and eventually worked her way up to veterinary technician. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Colorado State University.

Prior to attending veterinary school she lived in the US Virgin Islands, working as a Scuba Instructor and veterinary technician at a small animal clinic and the local Humane Society. She returned to Colorado State University for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She looks forward to meeting you!
